Youngsters got to quiz real life superheroes when a police officers visited their school.

Year two pupils at Healey Junior and Infant School, Batley, have been exploring the topic of superheroes and wrote a list of which heroes they would like to meet.

The police came top of the list, and PC Darren Hill and police community support officer Jane Sturgess were happy to oblige.

Pupils got to try on police coats and helmets, heard the police car siren’s wail and found out what a job in the force entailed.

Year two teacher Emma Sherwood: “They learned lots about the role of a police officer.

“They were really interested, I think its inspired a lot of them to be police when they grow up, which is lovely.”
