Police warning over spate of thefts in Batley

Police are warning the public to be vigilant following a spate of thefts in Staincliffe and Healey.

Criminals are believed to be targeting vehicles and committing several offences in a short space of time.

Victims have had their windows smashed and door locks and back doors damaged.

Police are advising residents to ensure their vehicles are alarmed and that valuables are not left in them overnight.

One resident of Healey had his works van damaged twice in recent months, with tools believed to be the intended target.

Other victims have also had their registration plates stolen.
