A kind-hearted couple raised more than £600 to bring theatre fun to schoolchildren.

Anne-Marie and Martin Kilgallon used their food manufacturing company, The FM Taste, to raise money for a theatre group to perform at Fairfield School in White Lee.

The pair raised the price of their sandwiches and other snacks and said their clients were happy to support the cause.

The Kilgallon’s son Tolan, three, is autistic and attends the nursery at the White Lee Road School.

Anne-Marie said pupils had been unable to go to a children’s production this year due to transport issues.

“Lots of the children are in wheelchairs, and it can be quite difficult,” she said.

“We decided as a company to raise the money to help with the cost of the theatre company.”

Youngsters enjoyed a production of Robin Hood and Maid Marion.

“It was really nice, they really got the children involved, it was lovely,” Anne-Marie added.

“We’re looking to do it again in the future.”
