Batley Grammar School pupils took part in a sponsored walk to raise money fr a Peru trip.

Children explored the home of Paddington Bear with a week of fun activities.

Peru was the hot topic for primary pupils at Batley Grammar School, from the Amazon River and the Andes mountains to Machu Picchu and Peruvian culture.

The children produced textile designs, models and artwork and took part in a sponsored walk and bun sale to raise money for the school’s Cadet Force trip to Peru.

Primary phase director Jane Jackson said: “Despite the freezing temperatures, the rain held off and the children walked the length of the Amazon River – or at least a scaled version of it!”
