Pupils from a Batley school swapped the classroom for the market place as they became traders for the day.
Youngsters Habib Iqbal, Ayyan Ali, Touqeer Iqbal and Abdul-Aziz Akkas sold Christmas decorations made by pupils from Batley Business and Enterprise College’s Forest School. The forest school aims to boost children’s knowledge of the environmental, social and economic potential of woodlands.
The pupils set up a stall in Batley market last Friday and sold the hand made festive gifts. Assistant head Dorothy Goldthorpe said: “Both staff and students were delighted with the public response to their business venture, being able to show case what is being done at BBEC.
“There will be many more events like this in the future and we hope the people of Batley will support their local school.”
