Churwell Chiefs u19s will be battling it out against Dewsbury Celtic tonight in a game to remember former player Leon Walker.
The rising rugby league star was just 20 when he collapsed and died during a game while playing for Wakefield Wildcats in 2009.
One of the organisers, Craig Rodgers, said: “Both teams are very enthusiastic and can’t wait for the game to be played in Leon’s memory and to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.”
Craig said he and co-organiser Aiden Sykes had worked tirelessly to ensure the event remembered Leon.
“He was a great guy and he loved rugby league,” he said.
“We hope that people come and support this great event for a great cause and for a great person”
The game will be held at Buslingthorpe Vale rugby ground on Meanwood Road, kicking off at 7.30pm.
Craig said: “We have the full support of the Walker family and hopefully, if this is a success, we would like to make it an annual event.”
