School’s special theme worked well

PUPILS at a Batley school have been getting a real taste of the world of work. Children at St Saviour’s Junior in Brownhill spent last week lapping up a taste of what it’s like to have a job. Firms and organisations came up trumps in bringing the subject to life through a series of talks and visits to the school. So curriculum manager Joanne Thompson had a varied line-up in place for the specially-themed week. Job and career types included clothes and fashion design, journalism, sports, library work, music, science and construction. Police and fire service teams went to the school and Asda hosted a visit to its Morley store.
