SLIDESHOW: Hip-hop, clogs and morris dancing - it must be Cleckheaton Folk Festival

Venues were packed at the weekend for Cleckheaton's annual folk festival.

There was a diverse mix of music and dancing as the event was staged for the 29th time on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Performers at the festival included BBC Folk award-winners Gregg Russell, the Pitmen Poets and The Demon Barbers.

It opened with an informal folk music session on Friday, followed by a day of concerts, presentations and workshops at venues around the town on Saturday.

The Demon Barbers held workshops during the festival to give people the chance to try out their mix of morris, hip-hop, clog and sword dancing.

There were also performances from Heckmondwike-based Timestep School of Dance, Batley Community Choir and a specially created festival choir.

On Sunday, a family fun day was held with a bouncy castle, Punch and Judy, face painters, and Street Entertainers .

Venues included Cleckheaton Town Hall, the Masonic Hall, the Rose and Crown St Paul’s Church Hall.
