A TEAM of slimming consultants from Batley and Birstall rounded off 2012 in real celebrity fashion.
The trio got to meet hunky reality star Mark Wright at an annual awards ceremony – scooping the chance to pose for pictures with him.
And at the Slimming World event in Birmingham, he said people in Batley and Birstall were lucky to have such support on the doorstep.
Yvonne Wood, Jill Carter and Lynne Asquith, who run weekly Slimming World groups in the area, were at the ceremony to honour the year’s most successful weight-loss stories.
Jill Carter said: “Meeting Mark was the perfect end to a great year for us. But there is still much work to be done. We want to help even more people to slim down and lead healthier lives in 2013.”
Mark Wright, who shot to fame on The Only Way is Essex and took to the jungle in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, said: “I was blown away by the people who joined us on stage. I couldn’t believe how much weight they had lost and what a difference it had made to their lives.
“Staying in shape is something I have to work at myself and I know it’s not always easy. I really feel the people of Batley and Birstall are lucky to have such a great support network on their doorstep.”
Jill said: “We’d love anyone who wants to make a change for the new year to come and join us. People who have struggled to stick to resolutions before need not be put off. There is lots of support to overcome the challenges.”
