Honking horns, a backlog of buses and perilous parking.
These are just some of the problems found along Windmill Lane during the morning and afternoon school runs – with no crossing or lollipop lady in sight.
Concerned parents are campaigning for Kirklees Council to make the Howden Clough road safe for children, with an e-petition collecting more than 170 signatures so far.
Campaigner and mum-of-two Laura Harrison said she feared it could take a child being knocked down before the council will act.
“We don’t want our kids to be in that serious accident,” she said.
The News visted Windmill Lane during rush hour to experience first hand the chaotic traffic.
