A LIVERSEDGE woman has appeared in court in connection with the fatal stabbing of Mirfield man Joshua Hirst.

Kirstie Rainford, 22, is charged with two counts of assisting an offender.

She appeared at Leeds Crown Court for the first time yesterday, but did not enter a plea.

Rainford, of Springbank Drive, was given conditional bail until she returns to the court on Monday.

She will stand in the dock alongside three men accused of murdering 20-year-old Mr Hirst, who was found stabbed near his home in Hepworth Lane on Friday August 3.

They are Nadeem Rashid, 21, of Lapwing View, Horbury; Jo Church, 21, of Redlands Close, Mirfield, and Arron Smith, 18, of Saville Street, Emley.

Church and Smith are also accused of possessing an offensive weapon.

The trio, who are all remanded in custody, have not entered their pleas.
