Woman dies after crash on Drighlington bypass

A woman has died after a collision on the Drighlington bypass.

She was pronounced dead at the scene after a two-car collision on the A650 at 11.18pm last night (Friday)

A police spokesman said there was a collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a Peugeot Blipper van.

It is believed the victim was driving the Astra.

Firefighters from Batley and Morley attended the incident.

A spokesman for Batley fire service said the female victim was pronounced dead at the scene but an injured man from the van was extricated.

The van driver was taken to hospital but he is not believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
