Woman elbowed in stomach in Dewsbury robbery

Police are looking for a man who pushed over a woman, snatched her purse and elbowed her in the stomach in Dewsbury.

The robbery took place in North Road, Ravensthorpe, last night (Thursday) between 22.45pm-23.10pm.

Det Insp Ian Thornes, of Huddersfield CID, said two females aged 20 and 25, and a 20-year-old male were walking down the road together after buying fast food.

The suspect then ran from behind, pushed the 25-year-old woman to the ground and robbed her.

He is described as African, in his 30s and wearing a red hooded top and black, tracksuit trousers.

Anyone with information should call 101 and ask for Det Sgt Nigel Gittins of the Huddersfield CID Robbery Team.
