More than 1,000 people from mosques in Dewsbury, Batley and Heckmondwike took part in an Eid-Milad peace procession to mark prophet Mohammed’s birthday.
Sunday’s procession through Dewsbury was organised by the Gulzar-E-Madina Jamia Mosque in Westtown and Ghausia Jamia Mosque based in Savile Town.
Children and the elderly waved traditional green flags symbolising love for nature and the environment.
Free cartons of biryani rice and soft drinks were given to passers by as well as those joining the procession.
A religious programme was held in the evening at the mosque in Westtown, including speeches by local Imams.
