Pupils helped to bite back at loan sharks by creating eye-catching mug designs.
Batley Parish Junior and Infant School took part in the competition run by the Illegal Money Lending Team and West Yorkshire Trading Standards as part of their campaign to tackle illegal lenders across Kirklees.
Nine-year-old Anam Mir, pictured with Batley West councillor Gwen Lowe, received first prize for her design, which included the stop loan sharks hotline.
Pupils at Batley Parish Junior and Infant School helped the Illegal Money Lending Team and West Yorkshire Trading Standards “Bite Back” at the loan sharks in their community, by taking part in an innovative “design a mug” competition.
Coun Lowe said: “Loan sharks can make people’s lives a misery, often preying on the most vulnerable in our communities. We want rid of these illegal money lenders and support a zero tolerance approach to them.”
