National pizza delivery chain Domino’s could be heading to Cleckheaton after applying to open a store in the town centre.
The fast food company, which has hundreds of branches throughout the UK, has lodged plans with Kirklees Council to open a new store on Cheapside in vacant premises next to the RSPCA store.
If the proposals get the go-ahead, it would create 28 jobs with ten of those full-time and 18 part-time.
In the application, Domino’s say that “the proposal will encourage the beneficial reuse of a vacant unit within the town centre.”
The unit has been vacant since March this year.
The nearest Domino’s is located in Heckmondwike.
A decision on the proposals is expected by early January.
