Residents move into new, purpose-built facility in Kirklees
The scheme, which is the first of its kind to open in Kirklees, has seen six one-bedroom, purpose-built bungalows built at Knowl Grove.
The homes are the result of a partnership between Kirklees Council and Connect Housing and have been funded through the government’s CASSH (Care and Specialist Supported Housing) scheme.

Kirklees Councillor Vic Kendrick, Cabinet Member for Adults, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to provide this high quality accommodation for the people of Kirklees.
“A physical disability should not be a barrier to finding a safe and comfortable place to live.
“These homes will make people’s lives easier and encourage them to live independently for as long as possible.”

“When I first moved in my parents were ringing me all the time to check if I was OK, it was a big change for them not having me around,” she said.
“Knowing that they don’t need to worry about me is a real weight off their mind.”
