More than 70 people put their fitness to the test in a fun rowing challenge.
Batley Baths and Recreation Centre invited visitors to this year’s Batley Festival to an on-land rowing challenge using machines from the Cambridge Street gym. Adults tested how fast they could row 500 or 100 metres, and youngsters tackled a 100m challenge.
Everyone that took part was given a free water bottle.
Visitors could also take on one of the centre’s fitness instructors, Harry Saville (pictured, right), to see if they could beat his record of 100m in 17 seconds.
Operations manager Lyndsey Kaye (pictured, left) said: “No one did beat him but we did give one customer a free water bottle and towel as he tried to beat him for half an hour and got 100 metres in 18 seconds!”
