In this week’s Batley and Birstall News:

A birthday meal proved to be a very expensive treat for six-year-old Livvi Eagleton - after her mum was slapped with a £100 parking fine for staying too long.

Danielle Eagleton visited Junction 27 in Birstall with her daughter and five of her friends.

The mum-of-one was treating them to a KFC but was stunned to find they had outstayed their welcome by 21 minutes and was fined.

PLUS: Did Batley’s John Travolta find his very own Olivia Newton-John on ITV show Take Me Out?

Richard Senior, known along the Golden Mile for his white suit and smooth moves, appeared on the hit dating show last Saturday.

AND FINALLY: Two friends joined Coach Trip’s flamboyant tour guide Brendan Sheerin on the hit TV show, but their trip of a lifetime did not go to plan.

Don’t miss all this, plus: Councillor David Sheard has been elected as leader of Kirklees Labour group, locals could be forced to pay for parking outside their houses and don’t forget to read Educating Yorkshire’s Jonny’s first column.
