Tyne challenge is just SOFAB

A neonatal nurse and a mum whose child was born prematurely will be flying down a zip wire off the Tyne Bridge to help a charity close to her heart.

Mum-of-one Catherine Osborne will be raising funds for SOFAB (Supporters of Families and Babies), a Yorkshire charity that raises funds to improve family-centred care in local neonatal units, including Dewsbury. She will be joined by her friend - and charity trustee - Louise Peever on Sunday, October 16.

Mrs Osborne said: “There are only five of us who all work and fundraise for SOFAB in our spare time. Fun Days, parties and cake sales take a lot of organising, a lot of blagging and a lot of time so we thought we’d just throw ourselves off the Tyne Bridge instead. As a mum who had a premature baby seven years ago, and a neonatal nurse with 10 years experience, we know how important these seemingly small things are to families who spend a lot of time on the units.”
