Have your say

In supporting Michael Holmes (August 18 edition) regarding the confusing and evasive stance Kirklees Council are taking, as they previously have, with regard to the short stretch of Quaker Lane leading to and beyond Liversedge FC.

Now, I’m no legal beagle but the fact that the previous local authority installed street lighting on the stretch of road in question indicates their responsibility for it must have passed to Kirklees.

Just the same as the remainder of Quaker Lane, which is northwards towards Westgate, which they clearly have accepted.

Add this to the further important points made by Mr Holmes and other contributors, and it just goes to show the lengths that Kirklees Council will go to avoid their public responsibiltiy or to simply pass the buck.
