HANGING Heaton's failings were cruelly exposed by Bradford League Division One high fliers Baildon last Saturday.
Haroon Rashid carved his way to 41 of the bottom club’s 101 total. Things got off to a bad start as Craig Hitchenor claimed the first three wickets with 25 on the board. He finished with impressive figures of 3-10.
Rashid and his brother Amar shared a fourth wicket partnership of 62 before Amar fell having made 16. It was all downhill after that as Harry Smallwood (3-21) and Mushtaq Ahmed (4-11) polished off the Heaton batsmen. The final six batsmen contributed just six runs as Heaton were dismissed for 101 in 34.2 overs.
It took Baildon only 21.1 overs to finish the game with Ian Philliskirk hitting seven fours and a six on his way to an unbeaten 52, Tabbi Bhatti added 24 not out.
Amar Rashid claimed the only wicket for Heaton that of opener Nahim Ashraf for 1.
Heaton’s Second Team earned a seven wicket win over Baildon in Division One with Nabeel Hafeez making 94 in Heaton’s 158-3 in reply to Baildon’s 154 all out.
