Nash make winning start in Premier

BATLEY Irish Nash started life in the Heavy Woollen Gate League Premier Division with a 4-1 win over Mirfield Town last Sunday.
Sean Housecroft (two), Anthony Mortimer and Shaun McDaid were on target for the hosts while Waqir Bashir replied.
James Walshaw hit all five goals as champions Thornhill Lees won 5-2 at promoted West End United (James Parkin and James Oliver), while Jimmy Heddon's hat-trick saw Birkenshaw triumph 3-2 at Hartshead (Sean Addy and Jon Gould). Towngate romped to a 7-1 win over Woodman Batley Carr (Tom Fletcher) thanks to Rob Hiscox (hat-trick), Lee Ryan, Adam Clayton, Elliott Williams and Darren Jordan, while Danny Clapham (hat-trick), Garrett Stead, Jamie McKenzie and Craig Batty saw Old Pack Horse to a 6-3 success at Battyeford, who replied through Lamin Bojang (two) and James Tracey.
Aiden Schofield (hat-trick) and Andy Godding (two) struck in Littletown's 5-2 home win over Babes in the Wood (Danny Barton and Dave Ward).
In Division One, Overthorpe Town recorded their first win in 12 months, beating Gomersal 6-4.
James Eatherley fired a hat-trick while Neil Sykes, Jonathan Tupper and Aron Kennedy also struck. Andy Kay (two), Alan Doig and Danny Bentley replied for Gomersal.
Oakwell Motel coasted to a 6-0 win over promoted Batley thanks to Shaun Jackson (two), Craig Smith, Jamie Pollard, Mujahid Ashraf and Majslav Karun, while Mark Hepworth (two), Danny Huntley and Scott Hargreaves scored as Navigation won 4-1 at Hightown Liberal Club (Luke Bolland).
Paul Smith scored two penalties as Birkenshaw Reserves were held to a 2-2 draw by Howden Clough (Joe Armitage and Gerard Burke). Birstall St Patricks (John Tyrell, Craig Metcalfe, Scott Minto and Jean-Marie Julienne) drew 4-4 at home to St John Fisher (Chris Thornton brace, Robert Boardman and Jonathan Wright), while Tom Wagstaff (two) and Will Clapham saw New Scarborough win 3-2 at Chickenley Heath. Bay Horse's game with Hunsworth was postponed due to an unfit pitch.
Dominic Verity scored five goals as Ravenswharfe beat Mirfield Parish 7-4 in Division Two. Lee Wood and Michael Smith hit the others, with Tim Hudson, Paul Egan, Ashley Gibson and Michael Thornton replying. Junction Pumas (Jimmy Dean hat-trick, Darren Munt and David Bolton) won 5-1 win at Spen Valley (James Smith) and Birstall beat Staincliffe WMC 4-0 thanks to Shane Bullers, Steve Shaw, Simon Flavin and Adrian White.
Joshua Smith (two) and Freddie McGillivery (penalty) gave Shoulder Gomersal a 3-1 victory over visitors Scholes Athletic while James Damon, Danny Damon and Ryan Lodge saw Ravensthorpe Hotel edge past Millbridge WMC (Shaun Hartley and Mark Wigley) 3-2. Batley Celtics' game with Shoulder of Mutton was postponed due to an unfit pitch.
In Division Three newcomers Black Labrador beat Cellar 7-0 with Andy Gardner (two), Mick Gardner, Paul Bridgewater, Chris Jackson, Andy Morton and Rob Holland on target.
Derek Lau (hat-trick), John Stables (two) and Liam Rowe saw Punch Bowl beat Rising Sun (Wayne Rough brace) 6-2, while Anthony Long and Lee Merson scored in Belle Vue's 2-1 success over Woolpack.
Dave Quinn, Simon Moffatt and Shaun Doran saw AFC Chickenley defeat Dewsbury Rangers (Danny Laidlaw and Ben Wood) 3-2, Christian Ellis (two) and Matthew Audin struck as Tree won 3-2 at Railway East Ardsley (Matthew Bray and Brian Tunstall), Taylor Street (Lasatha and Rama) won 2-1 at St Ignatius (Lee Nightingale), while West End Rangers and Chickenley Heath Res shared a goalless draw.
