BIRSTALL tumblers Sarah Turner and Laura Houson produced terrific performances at the European Championships in Odense, Denmark, last weekend.
The four-strong Great Britain team lost one gymnast to injury, which scuppered any chance they had of winning the team gold as the three remaining members were not able to risk some of their more tricky moves.
Laura and Sarah produced faultless displays as Britain won a silver medal behind the winning Russian team.
Laura had an excellent individual competition as she beat the world champion on her way to winning a silver medal, while Sarah also shone finishing fifth overall.
The pair now travel to Evian, in France, at the end of this month when they will be hoping to clinch a place at the World Cup finals in September.
With the top eight competitors to qualify, Sarah currently lies sixth and Laura is 11th.
