WHEELWRIGHT remain third in Senior Division B of the Yorkshire Old Boys League despite being held to a 2-2 draw by lowly St Bedes, while Batelians' lead at the top was cut to a point by Medics after their game at Calverley was called off.
East Ardsley Wanderers (Andrew Paske) slipped to fourth-bottom in Division One after they lost 4-1 to Leeds Medics Thirds.

Beeston maintained their two-point lead at the top of Division Two after a 2-0 victory at Farnley Sports.

Gildersome Spur
s Thirds moved up to eighth with a 2-1 win over lowly Alwoodley Reserves.

Heckmondwike GS Reserves never recovered from a poor start against Trinity Reserves as they were 3-0 down after just 10 minutes and 5-0 adrift at half-time.

Adam Hirst struck Heckmondwike’s consolation as they slipped to a 9-1 defeat which leaves them rooted to the foot of the second division.

Batelians Reserves moved out of the Division Three relegation zone after they recorded a 3-1 victory at home to Centralians Reserves.

Chris Porritt bagged a brace for Batelians, one from the penalty spot, while the returning James Holroyd also netted.

That result meant Wheelwright Reserves slipped into the bottom three after their derby at bottom side Heckmondwike Thirds fell victim to the weather.

Batelians Thirds remain just a point behind Division Five leaders Leeds City Reserves after they came from behind to defeat Collegians Thirds 7-1.

Batelians fell behind after 15 minutes but they equalised before half-time and then hit top gear after the break to add a further six goals.

Rob Wilson scored a brace for the second week running, the impressive James Keen struck with a goal from inside his own half, while Mark Heseldine, Phil Bryant, Rob Boardman and Ady Hall, with his first kick of the game after coming on as a substitute for Mick Kitchen, also netted.

Bottom side Wheelwright Thirds looked to be on course for their first point of the season after they were level with Shadwell Thirds going into the latter stages when they conceded a disputed penalty.

Phil Stock had given Wheelwright a first half lead but although Shadwell levelled before half-time, the home side looked like holding on for a deserved draw until the spot kick gifted Shadwell a winner and condemned Wheelwright to their 13th defeat of the season.

n The Yorkshire Old Boys League representative side travel to face the West Cheshire League in their FA National League Systems Cup quarter-final on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

The 18-man squad includes the Gildersome Spurs trio of Matt Jackson, Jonathan Kitchen and Daniel Thackray.

Having defeated the Cumberland County, Cheshire County and West Riding County Amateur leagues in previous rounds, The Old Boys are aiming for victory at Vauxhall Motors in Ellesmere Port this weekend to reach the last four.
