Rams and Bulldogs stage HW Cup finals

Dewsbury Rams and Batley Bulldogs will host this season's Heavy Woollen ARL junior and open age cup finals.

An action packed programme begins next Tuesday (August 23) when the Rams stage the Under-16 and Under-18 cup finals.

The Under-16s Douglas Hird Cup final between Shaw Cross Sharks and Dewsbury Celtic kicks off at 6pm, followed immediately after by the Under-18s Ernest Wilby Cup final between Birstall Victoria and Dewsbury Celtic (kick off 7.30pm).

August Bank Holiday Monday (August 29) will see the Bulldogs stage four finals.

The Under-12s Gary Talbot Cup between Batley Boys and Shaw Cross Sharks kicks off proceedings at 10.30am.

The Sharks also compete in the Under-13s James Flannigan Cup final when they take on Dewsbury Celtic (ko 11.45am).

The Under-14s Reporter Cup final between Dewsbury Moor and Birstall Victoria follows at 1pm, while the Under-15s Malcolm Waring Cup final between Batley Boys and Dewsbury Moor concludes the day at 2.15pm.

The Rams stage both open age finals next Thursday (August 25) before many supporters head down to London for the Challenge Cup final Wembley Weekend.

The John Kane Cup final between Batley Boys and Ossett Trinity kicks off at 6pm, followed by the showpiece of the Heavy Woollen ARL calendar, the Jim Brown Cup final, which sees National Conference rivals Thornhill Trojans and Shaw Cross Sharks clash at 8pm.

Thornhill will be bidding to retain the cup they won last season.
