Five of Liversedge’s six remaining league matches are at Clayborn and if they are able to cash in, Jonathan Rimmington’s men can secure their highest placed finish in several seasons.

Liversedge will aim to end a six match winless run on Saturday when Hemsworth Miners Welfare are the visitors (3pm) before they host relegation threatened Parkgate next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Liversedge earned a 1-1 draw against AFC Mansfield on Tuesday night but felt unlucky not to have claimed all three points.

Tom Brook headed home a corner to put Sedge ahead just before half-time, while they also had a second goal from a set piece ruled out, before Oliver Fearnon’s 65th minute stroke was enough to earn Mansfield a share of the spoils in an entertaining end to end contest.

Liversedge had previously slipped to a 2-1 derby defeat at home to Albion Sports last Saturday.

Stephen Wales gave Liversedge a 68th minute lead but Asif Hussain levelled 60 seconds later before Stephen Smith snatched victory for the visitors with a goal six minutes from full-time as Sedge remain eighth in the table.
