Batley Boys eye play-off final glory at Featherstone Rovers

Batley Boys eased into the Yorkshire Men's League Division One Play-off final with a 52-6 victory over Queensbury at Halifax Road last Saturday.

Batley started well and early pressure resulted in Ryan Crossley and Gavin Davies scoring tries, which Adam Bingham converted.

Batley kept Queensbury on the back foot with Bingham breaking through for a converted try.

Good drives from the forwards took Batley back up field for Mark Grayshon to crash over the line.

Bingham converted and added a penalty as the Boys led 26-0 at half-time.

Batley maintained pressure after the break and the ball moved out for Sean Whitaker to grab an unconverted try.

Queensbury scored a converted try but Batley replied soon after when Nathan Willans crossed out wide.

Josh Whitehead broke and sent Whitaker over for his second try, which Bingham goaled.

Aaron Briggs broke the defence to race down field and score, before Aaron James crossed for Batley’s final try, with Bingham adding both goals.

Batley Boys now face Bentley in the Division One play-off final at the Big Fellas Stadium, Featherstone, this Saturday kick off 1pm.
