Batley Bulldogs beat Leigh to reach Northern Rail Cup final

BATLEY Bulldogs produced a stunning display to win 25-4 at Leigh Centurions on Thursday evening and book their place in the Northern Rail Cup final.

The Bulldogs held a narrow 8-4 interval lead before superb defence kept the hosts at bay as Batley stormed to victory.

Danny Maun scored two tries while Sean Hesketh and Kris Lythe also touched down. Gareth Moore landed four goals and a drop goal.

The Bulldogs will now meet Keighley or Widnes, who play their semi-final at Cougar Park on Sunday, in the Northern Rail Cup final at Blackpool FC's Bloomfield Road ground on Sunday July 18.
