Birstall sign opener Wood
BIRSTALL CC have signed opening batsman Craig Wood from Scholes. Wood scored 588 Premier Division runs at an average of 23.52 last season.Will Atkin has moved from Mirfield PC to Moorlands. East Ardsley captain Danny McTernan has joined Hunslet Nelson, Wrenthorpe captain Kevin Watson has moved to Altofts, along with Alan Burton from Peterborough CC, while Luke Patel has joined Wrenthorpe from Castleford.
n Woodlands will entertain Bradford League champions Baildon in the first round of the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy, if they overcome York in last season’s delayed final.
Woodlands face York at East Bierley on Sunday April 25 in the final and if they win, must play Baildon before June 13.
First round draw: Methley (Central Yorkshire) v Beckwithshaw (Aire-Wharfe); York or Woodlands v Baildon (Bradford); Scholes (Huddersfield) v Woodhouse Grange (York Senior); Treeton (South Yorkshire) v York or Scarborough (Yorkshire).
