Celtic RL players are on the piste

DEWSBURY Celtic ARLFC arranged a special 'training' session in Rectory Park last week, which saw more than 60 children turn up to have fun in the snow.

Celtic’s youth and junior sections have been frustrated at not being able to train or play during the recent bad weather so coaches decided to hold a fun session ‘on the piste’.

Celtic open age coach Paul Heaton had the idea and said: “With this awful weather setting in, the youth and junior section of the club can’t train or play.

“Our club training sessions had to be cancelled over Christmas and all the lads were upset with this decision.

“Given the amount of snow we’ve had it was only a small jump in logic to hold a club session on the piste.

“It helped get all the lads together and it was great for team and club bonding, although its not too great for the coaches old bones.”
