Fourth trophy win for Cross Under-15s

SHAW Cross Under-15s rounded off with their fourth major trophy.

They defeated old rivals Dewsbury Moor 64-2 in the Heavy Woollen Cup final at Mount Pleasant.

It was the icing on the cake for Cross, who were unbeaten in 33 games.

In the Yorkshire Cup Cross met in-form Hunslet Warriors at College Grove in the final and took the spoils for their first major cup win.

Following a tough season Cross secured the league title with a convincing home win against Heworth.

The Challenge Cup was important for the coaches and players, as the Under-15s had never won it before.

The final was at Featherstone Rovers against Hunslet Warriors again. Hunslet led by two points with minutes to go but the never-say die-attitude from Cross saw them score a try at the death to lift the cup.

This has been a fantastic season with a special set of players and coaches, who have brought together a side that have an unbeaten record and secured four trophies. A total of 14 players from 18 are on scholarship with Super League clubs.
