Hartshead in Secker final – Wheatley and Brook Butler Cup ties

HARTSHEAD A reached the Heavy Woollen FA Under-14 Secker Cup final last Sunday with a 2-0 win at Churwell Lions.

Harry Barnes and Siaf Akbar were on target for Hartshead, who will meet Ossett Town in the final on Thursday April 29 at Ossett Albion (7.30pm).

Town won 5-0 at Battyeford tomake the final with goals from Danny Wright (hat-trick), Joe Turfrey and Connor Daniels.

In the Under-16 Blackburn Cup, Ossett Albion reached the final with a 6-3 home win over Woodkirk Valley. Sam Hirst (four), Aidan Wood and Chris Rowlands saw Albion to victory. Ashley Coffey (two) and Marcus Benstead replied.

The other semi-final on March 21 (1.30pm) sees Howden Clough host Ossett Town, who won their delayed tie with Battyeford 5-3 thanks to Daniel Connor (two), Sean Ripley, James Cromack and Oliver Strong. Town led 4-1 with 10 minutes to go but Battyeford battled back to 4-3 before a late Town strike sealed victory.

The Blackburn Cup final is at Ossett Albion on Thursday April 22 (7.30pm).

n Gildersome Spurs or Heckmondwike GS will face Ossett Common Rovers or Hunsworth in the first Wheatley Cup semi-finals on Thursday April 1, while the second on April 8 sees Lower Hopton tackle Thornhill or Battyeford Airedale Celtic. Both semi-finals are at Liversedge FC, kick-off 7.30pm.

The Wheatley cup final will be on Thursday May 6 at Ossett Town. All outstanding quarter-finals are due to be played on Saturday March 20.

n The Brook Butler Cup final will be on Sunday May 16.

The first semi-final on Sunday April 25 sees AFC Chickenley or Thornhill Lees face New Scarborough or New Inn Staincliffe, while on Sunday May 2 Old Pack Horse or Heckmondwike Town meet Crown Leeds Road or Scholes Athletic.

Both semi-finals and the final are at Littletown FC’s Beck Lane ground and kick off at 10.30am. The quarter-finals are due to take place on Sunday March 21.
