Huddersfield Town confirm charity 10K route

HUDDERSFIELD Town, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Kirklees Active Leisure have confirmed the route for the charity 10km run taking place on Sunday March 18.

The Run for Pounds Huddersfield 10k is the latest big participation event to raise money for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign.

For every £1 raised, 50p goes to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and 50p goes to the Huddersfield Town Academy.

Town commercial director Sean Jarvis, who will be taking part in the run said: “We have had the route in mind for some time now but we’ve had to get the distance registered by UK Athletics and approval from the local authorities.

“It is a course that is perfect for runners of all ability levels although unfortunately it’s impossible to avoid hills so we’ve made all the climbs at the start of the run allowed for us all to ‘coast’ back in to the finish line.

“It will be a fantastic occasion that we hope will become an annual event and most importantly raise a lot of money for a fantastic cause.

The run will start at 9am on Sunday March 18 at theb Galpharm Stadium, after which runners will make their way to Bradford Road, up to Bradley Road, across to Leeds Road and back down to finish at the stadium.

People can sign up for the race by visiting www.runforpounds.com.
