Referee halts Premier clash

LAST Saturday’s Spen Valley League Premier Division game between Ravensthorpe Rangers and BD3 United was abandoned after just 40 minutes.

The referee brought a halt to proceedings just before half-time after Ravensthorpe players disputed several of his decisions.

With the match at Girlington called off due to a waterlogged pitch, just two top flight games were completed.

Savile Youth are third-bottom, three points clear of Ravensthorpe, after they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Fairbank United, who moved above BD3 at the top.

Razzik Ali bagged a brace for the new leaders, who also had Tufail Ahmed on target.

Azir Gulzar (two) and Iftaq Hussain netted as Bradford defeated TVR United 3-2 to leapfrog their rivals and move third.

Heckmondwike Sports edged a five goal thriller in their foot of Division One clash against Howden Clough.

Matthew Parkinson, Lew Barraclough and Jacob Hirst struck for Heckmondwike as they moved third-bottom and left Clough at the foot.

Ashley Sallas replied for Clough.

Bulls Head Dewsbury suffered a 6-0 defeat at Fairbank Reserves as Shoaib Hussain bagged a hat-trick, Rehmea Abia hit a brace, while Hassan Iqbal also netted.

Inter Batley’s game against ALC was switched to Bradford and it paid off as the new home side ran out 5-3 winners.

Sulifag Varica hit a brace for Inter, who also had Saakue Rangali on target but it wasn’t enough as Des Dixon, Ashley Dutton, Ashley Muff, Aaron Irvin and Kevin Hall scored a goal for ALC. Defeat saw Inter slip to second-bottom, level on four points with Howden Clough.
