Very few international sides have their own official scorers and when touring England it is tradition that the home county scorers take on the role.

As regular Yorkshire first scorer John Potter will be scoring at the county’s game in Hampshire, John Virr was asked to cover.

John has been first team scorer for Hanging Heaton for the past 15 years, during which he has climbed the Association of Cricket Officials ladder.

Hanging Heaton host a county youth representative game on Monday when Yorkshire Under-13s take on Yorkshire Under-14s B team, start 11.30am.
