St Pats hammer rivals – All Stars seal first success

THREE Heavy Woollen Gate League games beat the icy weather last Sunday and Birstall St Patricks extended their lead in Division One with 10-0 success over promotion rivals Shoulder Of Mutton.

Jean-Marie Julienne led the way for the home side with a hat-trick, while Phil Clark (two), Sam Tyrell (two), Tom Nixon, Craig Metcalfe and an own goal completed the scoring.

St Patricks now lead by five points from St John Fisher and Shoulder Gomersal who have five and three games in hand respectively. Defeat saw Shoulder Of Mutton slip a place to fifth.

In Division Three, Ravensthorpe All Stars earned their first points of the season in a hard-fought 3-2 win over Queens Hotel.

Strikes from Ehsan Zeb, Mohammed Barry and an own goal were enough to see All Stars secure a welcome success.

Mark Drake and Jamie Maude replied for visitors Queens.

Matt Bellwood bagged a hat-trick as Northorpe United gained a third win of the season, beating Batley Celtics 3-1. Richard Pamment hit Celtics’ consolation goal.
