Supporters out in force for Keighley trip

Batley look set to be backed by a healthy following on Sunday with at least two supporters groups running trips to the game.

Head coach John Kear praised the way supporters have reacted in the pre-season games, saying: “I am really pleased with how the fans have been.

“In our last game against Wakefield it was like a cup tie atmosphere. You wouldn’t have thought it was a trial game and when we went 18-14 up, they really got stuck in.”

Kear’s media work is also set to make for hectic weekend.

He was part of Sky’s commentary team for last Friday’s opening Super League clash between Widnes and his former club Wakefield, while he faces a mad dash straight after the Keighley game to be part of a new Sunday night magazine show, Super League full-time.

The Batley Bulldogs Supporters’ Club bus to Keighley on Sunday leaves Branch Road, Batley, at 12.15pm and Birstall library at 12.30pm. Fares are £7 for adults and £5 for Under-16s.

To book a seat call Alison on 07545 496931 after 6pm or text the same number anytime.
