Norfolk ended a 15-year wait to win some silverware when they defeated Dewsbury West Side in last Saturday’s Spen Valley Memorial Trophy final.
Norfolk had progressed to their first final since joining the league and made the most of it against favourites West Side, who were unbeaten on their way to winning the Division One title.
Eugene Ogordo struck for Norfolk, while West Side replied through Jamil Sair as the final ended 1-1 after 90 minutes and the sides couldn’t be separated in extra time.
Norfolk held their nerve to win 3-1 on penalties and end their long wait to lift a trophy.
Defeat ended West Side’s hopes of the treble but they will look to bounce back when they meet Hartshead in the Spen Valley Trophy final at Overthorpe Sports Club on Saturday (ko 2pm).
Hartshead suffered a 4-1 defeat to Savile United last Saturday and needed a point from last night’s game away to White Abbey Road to move out of the bottom two in the Spen Valley League Premier Division.
Tom Smith struck for Hartshead but United leapfrogged above them as Abdul Jabber Ibrahim bagged a hat-trick and Uzair Kola also scored.
A point for Hartshead last night would have been enough to see them finish above United.
Premier Division champions Athletico rounded off their campaign with a 5-2 win at Girlington thanks to goals from Brandon Dexter, Mahine Malik, Shuib Yasin, Mohammed Ikraaz and Qendrin Emini.
Girlington replied through Saad Abbas and Shoaib Javed.
Pelestino are runners-up but finish seven points behind Athletico after losing their final match 2-1 at Vision, who had Chris Bower and Liam Shields on target.
Lower Hopton came from 2-1 down at half-time to earn a 3-3 draw against Golcar United in their final West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division game of the season.
Nathan Alexander, Liam Reilly and Aiden Schofield scored to earn Hopton a point.
