Jason Crookes has signed a contract extension to keep him at Batley Bulldogs until the end of the 2018 season.
Crookes joined Batley from Dewsbury Rams midway through the campaign in a deal which saw Macauley Hallett move in the opposite diretion and he has made nine appearances, scoring three tries, including the opener in last Sunday’s 22-22 draw against Oldham.
Batley will bid to topple relegated Bradford Bulls on Bank Holiday Monday as they aim to secure a home semi-final in the Kingstone Press Championship Shield when they travel to Odsal.
Batley currently lie second in the group, three points above Sheffield Eagles and five ahead of Dewsbury Rams with four games remaining.
Batley face a tough end to the Championship Shield group with games against Dewsbury, leaders Toulouse and Sheffield to follow but they will be without influential prop forward James Brown after it was confirmed he will miss the remainder of the season with a torn bicep.
