Liversedge recorded an impressive four-wicket win over Bradford League Championship A high fliers Undercliffe last Saturday.

The win prevented Undercliffe taking over from Batley at the top of the table as the leaders sat out last weekend’s round of matches.

Zach Wood returned impressive figures of 5-32 as Undercliffe were dismissed for 11, despite a battling 48 from Michael Loubser.

Liversedge stumbled towards their target with Zeeshan Qasim picking up 3-30 to give them a few anxious moments.

Wasim Khaliq’s 48 saw the Roberttown Lane side over the finish line as they picked up a third win of the season to move 16 points clear of second-bottom Keighley.

Yeadon seized their chance to move second and reduce Batley’s lead to 11 points with a convincing 64-run win over Keighley.

Birstall slipped to a seven-wicket defeat to Saltaire as Salman Khan (3-25) and Michael Eglin (3-18 ) helped bowl out the visitors for 82.

Arbaab Hussain’s unbeaten 45 steered Saltaire to a comfortable win which leaves Birstall third-bottom.

Hunslet Nelson squandered the chance to make up ground on Batley as they went down by 71 runs against Baildon.

Max Chapell took 4-28 as Baildon were restricted to 139-6 but Nelson were then dismissed for just 69 with Baildon spinners Mushtaq Ahmed (3-12) and Simon Bailey (3-20) sealing their side’s second win.

Ossett secured a 110-run win over Idle as they moved up to sixth place.

The experienced Javed Umarji (50no), Tamoor Saghir (39no) and Richard Whitehurst (32) helped Ossett to a total of 181-5 when they batted first.

Rahell Ahmed (5-15) took the first five Idle wickets to fall and they were bowled out for 71 as he was backed up by Khalid Usman (3-19).

Idle captain Simon Curry carried his bat through his side’s innings but only had 21 not out to his name.
