IT'S official, Dewsbury chips are the best in Yorkshire.
Scarborough Fisheries, in Thornhill, was voted as serving the county's best chips in an online competition and received an award from TV's Keith Chegwin today.
As part of National Chip week the Potato Council is searching for counties' best chip outlets and giving them the Perfect Portion prize.
Dewsbury's shop beat off competition from towns famous for their chippies such as Whitby and Scarborough.
Cheggers presented owner Paul Gledhill with the Perfect Portion trophy and sang a chip-themed version of the Kaiser Chiefs' Ruby.
