Phoenix Players join forces with Rastrick group to stage The Ghost Train

Two theatre groups will join forces to bring a classic play to the stage.

The Phoenix Players from Batley, and St Matthew’s Theatrical Society, of Rastrick, will perform Arnold Ridley’s The Ghost Train.

The play tells the story of a group of travellers who find themselves stranded at a bleak railway station in Cornwall as mysterious events unfold.

Phoenix Players chairman Iain Bedson said: “The Ghost Train is a great choice of play with humour, drama and a large cast, including members from both groups together with some new faces.”

Phoenix Players were based at Batley Business and Enterprise College where they performed many plays.

But the latest play will be performed at St Matthew’s Parish Centre, Church Street, Rastrick, on Wednesday July 30, Friday August 1 and Saturday August 2 at 7.30pm. There will be no show on July 31.
