This will be the first time TAP’s (textile, art, photography) artwork has been displayed and the collection shows the diversity of their work from the last decade.

Amanda Howes, a community arts facilitator, runs the weekly classes at Batley Girls’ High School during term time with support from Kirklees Council grants.

Member Lisa Balmer said: “There is a lovely camaraderie in the group. This class enables me to experiment with materials I have not used before. I have learned so many new techniques – as well as making many new friends.”

Visitors can expect varied artwork from fine art to digital photography produced by beginners and advanced students alike.

The exhibition is at the gallery in Batley Library, Market Place, until January 3.
