Joshua on course for a great career thanks to new foundation degree

Local housebuilder Barratt Homes has designed a bespoke foundation degree in Residential Development and Construction with Sheffield Hallam University.

Newly appointed trainee assistant site manager Joshua Whitehead, who is based at the Greenacres development in Pontefract, will be one of the first Barratt Group employees to go through the course.

The three-year part-time course is designed specifically for Barratt Group employees.

Students will attend Sheffield Hallam University in four, one-week blocks (Monday-Friday).

Learning will take place on site, in the classroom and in the laboratory.

After completing the course, students will then move on to an 18-month top-up course to obtain a BSc qualification in Residential Development and Construction.

Students who go on to complete the top-up course will graduate in November 2018.
