Eleven air cadets from 868 (Mirfield) Squadron completed their Bronze National Navigation Award last weekend.

The cadets took place in a training day, learning about maps and route planning, followed by a trek in the countryside around Mirfield to demonstrate what they had learnt and be assessed.

The skills practiced on this walk will be of great use on their Duke of Edinburgh expeditions later this year.

Squadron Commander Flight Lieutenant Peter Doubell said: “This is another example of the opportunities we are able to offer to our cadets to help them develop skills which could be useful to them in later life.”
