Apartment complex to be built at old mill

Planners have granted conditional full permission for Batley-based DK Architects to convert the old Jessops Mill in Station Road into flats.

What was Mr G’s nightclub, which faces on to Bradford Road, will be turned into the bar.

Supporting information with the application reads: “The building is currently run down and in a derelict state.

“It is not sealed and rain penetration is slowly causing damage to the fabric of the building.

“We believe the proposals are in keeping with the materials, scale and mass of the existing building.

“Our design ethos on this project is to maintain the original mill character in the conversion and adaption to apartments.”
