The 43-year-old victim was walking along Union Road shortly before 1pm on Tuesday December 2, when he was approached by a man who pushed him causing him to fall to the floor and cut his head.

PC Chris Merrick, of Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The victim had been in a disagreement over a parking issue with the passenger of a blue car in Market Street around 15 minutes before this offence. We are keen to speak to the passenger and driver of this vehicle to eliminate them from our enquiries.

“I would also ask anyone who has witnessed this assault to get in touch. Anyone with information which could help our ongoing enquiries is asked to call Batley and Spen NPT on 101.”
