Asda lowers fuel prices to lowest in four years

Supermarket giant Asda has capped its fuel prices to the lowest in more than four years.

The company has announced it has lowered the price of unleaded petrol to 110.7 pence per litre and 117.7 pence per litre on diesel - the lowest fuel prices since October 2010.

Andy Peake, Asda’s petrol trading director, said: “We’re giving drivers an early Christmas present as fuel prices continue to fall. Asda is leading the way with our eleventh price cut since September.

“We know our competitors are likely to follow our lead but Asda doesn’t have a postcode lottery on fuel, meaning no matter where customers live, they will benefit from the same fuel price with our national price cap of 110.7ppl for unleaded and 117.7ppl for diesel.”
