Big names top Dales’ festival bill

Gold Panda, Wire, SBTRKT and Django Django are set to storm Skipton when Beacons Festival returns to the Yorkshire Dales next month.

The cutting-edge music and arts festival promises to bring together the best artists and club nights Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester and London has to offer between August 16 and 18.

Beacons – now in its second year after being rained off in 2011 – will also see Ghostpoet, Local Natives, Savages and Dutch Uncles play stages across the three-day event, while Hookworms, Middleman and Sky Larkin will fly the flag for homegrown talent.

Highlights on Friday also include Manchester indie quartet Egyptian Hip Hop, while punk legends Wire will entertain crowds on Saturday.

The final day will see talented producer Floating Points win over crowds with a session spanning house, techno, soul and disco.

Early Bird tickets are now sold out but tickets for the four-night festival are on sale for £99.50.

The Beacons Bundle weekend ticket is £129.50 and includes 24 cans of beer or cider, a Beacons hand printed tote bag and a festival programme.
